I just received my Passport 1TB and when I attach it to my laptop I get a message that it is an unknown device.

I have Windows 7. Can anyone help?

Hello, be sure to connect the Passport directly to one of your laptop USB ports, avoid using USB extension cables or USB hubs. If you have a USB 3.0 Passport, check if you have the latest USB 3.0 drivers available for you laptop.
