I’ve installed my 1TB My Book Essential drive. I’ve updated the firmware, updated Smartware, disable VCD then uninstalled smartware. My drive shows up and appears to be working but it is listed as an unknown device in device manager with an ! warning. Should I be concerned? Using Windows 7.
Figured it out. Had to reinstall smartware, enable the VCD, copy drivers from the ‘extras’ folder, disable VCD and then uninstall smartware. Easy enough.
