We use the My Cloud in the office as well, and after the family folder “update” (which they claim was done to update "the security ") we ALL use the SAME USER. HOW SECURE IS THAT, WD?
We ordered another MyCloud drive this summer (pre udpdate) and it is just such a worthless overpriced thumbdrive now (as someone aptly put it in the thread above).
We purchased the drive on the SOLE BASIS that we would be able to share some folders, and keep some for ourselves. Without the shared family folder, it’s just a piece of useless plastic! And don’t say that it’s available in the web app, that doesn’t even come close to replacing the file explorer-function.
This is a very long thread - clearly, many customers (myself included) are upset about the removal of desktop functionality for the Family folder. Why hasn’t WD posted an update on this issue? I think we all deserve at least that.
WD - please post to this thread, indicating when the issue will be fixed.
