I am a pretty new user to computer technology but do have some files I need transfered from my Windows 7 Asus computer to my new windows 8 HP computer. On my asus computer I was able to find my hard drive and transfer files over to the drive. Once I plugged it into my HP computer, it did not pop up in my computer screen as an accessible hard drive to transfer my saved files. I know my computer recognizes it by the noise that a device is plugged in but unable to find it. any suggestions?
Look in Disk Management and make sure the drive has a letter assigned to it.
