Unable to detect SSD

Hi I had recently purchased this WD Green SATA 2.5/7mm disque 240 GB WDS240G2G0A
And this caddy → https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B07W14CHV8
For my laptop Lenovo Ideapad 130 Core i5 8th Gen 130-15IKB

I have attached it in the laptop dvd rom properly with all the screws but it’s not getting detected. Even checked bios setup. Unable to see that drive anywhere.
Please help!

You might try connecting the SSD directly to a USB adapter and see if it gets discovered. If it does then put it back in the caddy but connect the caddy to the USB adapter (If you can) and see if it gets found.

I’m thinking by doing this you are at least proving A) The drive is good B) The caddy is good and C) Maybe it’s not a good connection inside the Lenovo if A and B are ture.

Thanks for the response.
So now I will have to purchase a USB adapter

which are dirt cheap and always come in handy

$12 AUD … that’s under $9 USD if you’re in US
