Unable to communicate with My Book Essential

I had My Book connected to my laptop and the cable got too taunt. The My Book feel about 1 1/2 feet. I now cannot communicate with it. I can feel the hard drive spinning. I can see the hard drive in manage hard drive. It still asks for password. But in WD Smartware it shows 0kb available. When I try to format it give me the message that it cannot do so. Can anyone offer some advice or is it broke?

The drive is probably physically damaged and beyond do it yourself fixes.
