Twonky only shows a big list of media?

Hi all,

Just got my WD EX2 up and running. (newest firmware, twonky 7.2.8.3)  I have a bunch of TV episodes and movies that I’ve transferred over to it, and no matter what I set as the navigation tree setting too, I just get a big list of every single piece of media on my EX2 - which is useless, as I have over 500 things on there.

It doesn’t matter what I connect to the DLNA server with - my 2014 Sony Bravia HDTV, my nexus 7 or my macbook running VLC or XBMC, I just get a huge list of every piece of media on my ex2 sorted alphabetically. No fodler structure, not sorted by movie or TV (and I have them all in individual folders ie /tv/The League/Season 1 vs /movies/Die Hard).

I assume that this is not supposed to be happening? I have tried changing the navigation tree settings, tried rescanning and rebuilding the media list, and tried resetting the twonky server.

Anyone have any help/ideas?

thanks

Hello stajerker, welcome to the WD Community. Twonky will not add the metadata to the files right away, this information needs to be downloaded first. Are you still experiencing the same issue?

Yep, still the exact same issues.

Even if I set to folder navigation (that uses my folder structure) it still shows just a big list. this is what it looks like:

I bought this because I was frustrated I had to have my laptop open to serve media - I thought this would work properly like any other dlna device i’ve had.  It doesn’t.  Its especially annoying because there is basically zero documentation (the online WD docs are a joke - no FAQ, no problems, no help at all) and I’ve had to google everything because the WD stuff doesn’t really help all that much.
