Turning Off Drive Lock - My Passport Ultra

Hi There,

I have a WD My Passport Ultra 2TB drive and have previously set a password on there. Now I want to turn this off BUT I can’t find that option in the WD SmartWare (v2.4.16). I have tried searching on here and other places and someone suggested WD Drive Utilities which I have downloaded (v1.3.1.2) and it’s not there either.

Can anyone suggest the best way to do this please?

Update…

Finally found a solution to this. It seems like there is YET ANOTHER download called “WD Security” which can be used for this.

I just wish that there had been some information made available AND that the WD SmartWare help pages had been updated. It would have saved a lot of searching and head scratching.
