TS video files not playing on WD TV Live Streaming

Just bought this yesterday to replace my MediaMVP which could not play HD files.  I used NextPVR to record TV shows, and was hoping this new unit would be a good replacement.

I am connected via Ethernet to my PC and able to see my video files just fine, I am connected to the TV via HDMI (also tried the components, but same results.  Regular mpg files work great, with no issues.  My issue is with TS files.  I click on the file, see the file name and timeline, but after a few seconds the message pops up saying this format is not supported and to check the manual for supported formats.  From what I see, it should be supported, but maybe there is something else.

I have unplugged, hit the reset button and set to original factory settings, but same results.

I need to know why it isn’t working, what it will take to get it work (for free or very cheap), or I may have to try another option.  I like it so far, just bummed it isn’t playing the videos I will be recording in this format.

Here is an example of one I recorded yesterday for my son.  I have included the MediaInfo on it.

Let me know what other information is needed.  I appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks!

This is purely a guess, but the fact that it has CC’s MUXED into the video stream itself may be the issue.

You might try running TSMUXERGUI, and strip out the CC’s, and mux the Video/Audio tracks as-is.

I downloaded the tool suggested, but unfortunately, I could not get TSMUXERGUI to work correctly.  Each time I attempted to use one of my TS files, the program would fail.  I am on a Windows 7 64 bit PC, so maybe that is part of it, or maybe it can’t handle my TS files either.  Any other tool I can try?

Any other suggestions?  I hate to return the product so quickly, but if it can’t handle the TS videos, then it  might not be the solution for me.

No real solution for this issue yet.  Some times my TS files play fine, but I have found converting them to another format will work fine.  I just don’t want to have to constantly convert all my files.  Any other suggestions out there?  Is there a faster tool than MCEBuddy to convert TS files to another format?  Sometimes I have found that the MKV GUI  conversion will not work sucessfully.

Maybe you should consider replacing the NextDVR? That might be a better soultion than replacing the WD TV (which is by far the best player on the market (especially in terms of compatibility with various file types - if the WD TV can’t play it, chances are nothing else can either).
