Trying to perform a USB to NAS backup

I’m trying to create a USB to NAS backup job on my brand-new NAS. I put in a HFS+J formatted thumb drive, select it as a source folder, select a destination folder Public and save. But the job always fails with “backup source path is invalid”

Via ssh, I can see the mounted USB drive and all of the files, but the backup job will not run.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

You could refer to the following link: My Cloud: USB Copy, Synchronize and Incremental Backup Failure

Sorry, that doesn’t help. I’ve tried every possible combination of backup type and format for the USB stick. The problem remains that the source folder (the USB stick) is marked as invalid. It appears as if the translation from the virtual name (Ultra_Fit-1) to the Linux path (/mnt/USB/whatever) is not working. I’ve also tried backing up a folder inside the USB stick rather than the whole device.

Doing rsync by hand (via ssh) gives no problems at all. Using usb_backup (even by hand) always gives problems.

I have the same problem. Has anyone found a solution?
