Trouble using Time Machine backup with OS5

so I found it easy backing up to TImemachine with OS3 - I just gave full access to my user and Time machine found the share fine.

Now im trying this on a Mycloud with OS5, on my Time machine share, User access is greyed out, and instead I have an NFS Access which I have NO idea what do set it to.

Anyway, I enabled Mac backups and selected Time machine share - and then every time I go back to that option for some reason it keeps changing it back to Public!

When I try and select the Time machine share from my Mac, it sees it but then says
Time Machine can’t connect to the backup disk.. There was an error authenticating with the provided username or password.

Please could someone give any advice? this is so frustrating as it used to be so easy

anybody any ideas? :-/
