Transfering Data from One Laptop to a new one with My Passport Ultra

Hi,

I regularly back up my data onto my My Passport Ultra. I now have a new laptop and want to transfer all my data onto it. The My Passport Ultra does not offer this possibility. Can anyone help?

Hello,

You can go into the backup folder and copy the files to the new computer.

If you are using WD Smartware the backup folder will be named: “WDSmartware.Swstor”

If you are using WD Backup the backup folder will be named: “WDBackup.Swstor”

Thanks. I did find my data there but the files had strange name endings so I was a bit cautious. Any tips or can I just copy and paste?
