As of 2 days ago, for no apparent reason, the transfer rate from my laptop to an external HD connected to my WD Live, has become very very slow. The external HD is fine, as I plugged it directly to my laptop via usb, and it worked very very fast. Previously the transfer rate over my wireless network was about 1 mb/sec, now its about 100kb/sec, so it’s taking 40 minutes to transfer an average tv show file. Any ideas ?

Try connecting the WD TV directly to the router just to make sure it is not a WiFi issue.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I tried your solution but it did not solve the problem. I am thinking the problem is with my laptop which is running windows 8.1…enough said(lol)
