Time Machine does not work with WD My Book Live

Time Machine does not work with WD My Book Live 3T.

My macbook Pro has no problem finding my  WD My Book Live 3T, 

but when I try to backup using Time Machine it says that “the harddrive (WD My Book Live) is missing AFP functions”.

Can anybody help?

Be sure you update to the latest firmware - 02.02.02-020.  This will fix the AFP issues.  Apple changed some AFP functionality in Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) - in preparation for Lion 10.7.  Open the MBL Dashboard at http://MyBookLive.local - and find the Check for Firmware Update option in the System settings.
