Same issue here, all Time Machine backups are gone (after firmware update), I’m at the point to give up after not receiving any useful answer for two weeks - WD My Cloud EX2 - Time Machine backup missing (Share and all Files gone)
So, let’s assume, the files are there, WD MyCloud just doesn’t find them because there is no reason why it would be deleted. The problem is that the Time Machine Backup share is completely gone so even if the files and virtual folder is there, it’s nowhere to find. I even tried to mount the HDD and locate the missing files but being a NAS drive, it isn’t readable outside the MyCloud hardware. It’s a dead-end without WD help.
The fix is to provide a solution for a lower level access to locate the Time Machine Sparse Image Bundle (.sparsebundle or similar) and mount it, copy it, access it somehow.
