Time Machine backup to My Cloud Mirror failing (

All but about a couple of backups a week are failing between Time Machine and my Macbook Air. The error message from Time Machine is

“Time Machine couldn’t complete the backup to “WDMyCloudMirror_AFP_TimeMachineBackup”. The backup disk image “/Volumes/TimeMachineBackup/[name]’s MacBook Air.sparsebundle” is already in use.”

  • My Cloud Mirror (1st gen) with ver 2.11.153
  • 2013 MacBook Air running macOS Sierra 10.12.1, with 8GB of RAM

Any advice is appreciated.

I had the same error and I decide to disable time machine and use carbon copy cloner.
