Thunderbolt 2 to USB-C

I currently have my WD My Passport Ultra connected to my Macbook Pro via a USB port on my laptop. I want to get a faster transfer time so I was thinking of connecting the Ultra to a Thunderbolt port on the laptop. I’ve been trying to research this all day and I can’t find anything. Does anyone out there know if I can somehow connect my USB-C port from my WD My Passport Ultra to my Macbook Plus Thunderbolt 2 port? Do I need to purchase a USB-C to mini DisplayPort converter cable first? Or, can I simply get a mini Displayport to USB-C cable?

Hi @Phoophan,

USB hub/ DisplayPort converter cable may not be 100% compatible with a USB drive as may lead to being ejected from the bus, stalled endpoints, and failed device enumerations.
