Thumbnail for all my home videos

Hi everyone and sorry for my poor english.

I’m trying to get a preview thumbnail for all my home videos, thousands of them.

I need a software that could get the first or the second frame (like the thumbnails preview on Windows 7) from every file.

Is there something like this?

Ffmpeg or avconv will both do it and is easily scriptable.
