I was shoving my EX2 Ultra connected to a My Book Duo on to my 5 3/4 inch shelving when the power plug on the EX2 fell out twice thus causing the EX2 to perform a file system consistency check on the 3rd power up.
With 9TB of data, it took about 15 minutes for the fsck to complete before I could sign into the Dashboard to check the device status.
A few minutes later when I decided to open the dashboard again on a new webpage I got the request to sign in again even though the Web Access timeout is set to 30 minutes and this time I got the message that the user account entered is currently in use.
Since I could not sign into the Dashboard I could not hibernate but luckily I could still SSH into the device and issue a shutdown.sh via the terminal.
After powering up I was able to sign into the Dashboard without any problems.
Some notes:
- I’m the only user and person on my network
- only one user (renamed Admin to my user name)
- First time I have accidentally caused a power outage
- booted up with the USB My Book Duo attached with some test data, I believed formatted as NTFS.
Not a major concern but it is a bit disconcerting as it is possible that booting up with a USB drive attached could still be a problem or that the consistency check can cause the user account to be in use?
Has anyone else seen this message?
Do you know of the cause and solution?
