The new firmware is a step backward! Stop pulling my leg!

In less than a year, how many issues I had to manage:

  • mycloud no more regognize after input a wrong static IP (yellow blinking led and my cloud go back to the factory!)

  • one month without connecting from remote due to a serious issue affecting wd servers all over the world

  • and

THE LATEST TWO FIRMWAREs really a step backward.

I’m no longer able to make or update safetypoint through the USB port connecting a wd external hd…!

and browser interface is extremely slow.

Maybe it is time to change. QNAP OR SINOLOGY???

Go for it If I had the issues you were having I would go for something more robust.

No experience with QNAP but the Synology 213j is working well for me. I robbed the WD Red HD from the WD and used it  in the Synology.
