Terminally slow

i have a Wd livebook 2tb drive I use for music files

& it is so slow I considering taking it back to the shop

im at my wits end this product is RUBBISH

im connected on a Mac Book pro to the router with a Lan cable trying to move 500mb files to the Livebook drive 

& it has so far taken 2 days

this isnt right 

I have a linksys router 

A mac book pro

& obviously this Livebook

ANY IDEAS

The MBL is not the problem. Something on your network.

Check cables make sure they are CAT5E or later, make sure you have latest drivers for NICs, make sure you have a 10/100/1000 router, buy a new router, etc.
