Takes over port 80 on router? huh?

I am already running a webserver on a linux host on my network with my external port 80 forwarded to it.

I plugged in the WD My Cloud and it has somehow taken over port 80 forwarding without any prompting or asking…

This is NOT good.  Immediately took my website offline… can the My Cloud be run on a port other than 80?  Such that I can forward some other external port to it? Or at least prevent my current website from going offline?

I have a Cisco E3000 router.

It’s using UPnP, and your router is allowing the WD to use the port because your router is not telling the WD that the port is already in use.

You will need to use manual port configuration on the WD, or turn off remote access completely.

Also recommend turning off UPnP on your router since it seems it’s not working correctly anyway…

it does the same thing for transmission port 9091… for some reason the drive seems to request…

though people here to seemt to be pointing to the router

though i never had any issue like this with the MBL drives…they had the exact same setup , ips, ports etc…

i dont know what else to say… i had to run transmission on a different port
