Synolocker

I think the WD staff has heard of the Synolocker ransomware today or yesterday.

This is malware that installs on NAS and locks/decrypts all the files, like the Cryptolocker ransomware on pc.

Currently only Synology systems are affected:  http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=88716

But I think in the future this kind of ransomware might affect our systems too.

Are our systems vulnerable to this exploit? Heartbleed, ssh login,…

If yes, will there be any precautions.

I would also appreciate any updates on this issue.

And a more transparent approach on security fixes would be nice.

If it can affect WD NAS devices, then such information will be made publicly available by WD alongside preventive/corrective measures.
