Swap old My Book World Edition hard drive into new enclosure

I have a failed WD10000G032-001 My Book World Edition that I was hoping if I bought a new WD My Book World Edition WD10000D032 from eBay & swapped my old hard drive into it that I could recover my data & then copy it off & back to the new hard drive (after re-installing the new hard drive). WD encryption makes it nearly impossible to recover otherwise. Can you tell me whether I should have any chance of success using this method?

What are the symptoms of the failure? If it’s actually a HDD problem, that a new enclosure will obviously not help.

Symptoms are no power, no lights, nothing. AC adapter is fine & has 12V DC at the tip.

I have some updated information which changes my question sightly…

So my original WD10000G032-001 My Book World Edition & the new WD My Book World Edition WD10000D032 from eBay should be very nearly identical, correct?

I also found a WD5000G032, which should also be nearly identical except that the hard drive is 500G vs 1TB, correct?

With this information, should I be able to purchase either drive & accomplish the task of replacing the new hard drive with my original hard drive in order to recover my data? From what I understand the differences would only be no functional difference between the WD1000G032 & my WD1000G032-001 and only a difference in hard drive size between the WD5000G32 & my WD1000G032-001. Do I have that right?

Also, I’m not seeing a difference in the white light/ring model & the blue light/ring model other than speed & I can’t find any specific model # that would distinguish that. If there is, would that be a show stopper for me?
