Swap EV Carriers

Is there a way to replace the EV carriers on the Shuttle XL with normal drive bays, so I can make an array with all the drives?

I did that recently, hard was to get HDD caddy (but I get 2 from UK ebay)

I would like to do exactly the same. Did you ever find out if it was possible?
