am new to this so please be patient.
My WD players is now saying “Please see the User Manual for a list of supported file formats”.
I have no idea what to do can you please help.

- Which WD TV Media Player do you have ? … look at the P/N on the label
- The Message means you are trying to play something that is not supported (either the Wrong Codec or Container)

I randomly get this message and often after doing a power reset (pulling the power cable, waiting a few minutes, and restarting). I’ll get the “file format not supported” message, which eventually goes away. I’m assuming the software takes some time to fully load. It’s a pain in the rear though, since it turns the box into a paperweight for a lengthy time.
gee, pretty happy i use a RPi2 now, and never have to put up with any of that
