Suggestions for simple, home, network monitor software?

Something that will give an alarm, send a text or otherwise notify when the MyCloud becomes disconnected from the network/router?

Thx.

Your MyCloud shouldn’t disconnect from the network…

If it does, there’s something wrong with your MyCloud or your network.

@brooksr Did you set up notifications in Settings? See example image below. Click on, tap or activate image to enlarge it.

I agree that it shouldn’t, but it does. See this thread, I’m not alone: https://community.wd.com/t/mycloud-device-disconnects-itself-from-the-network-daily/92919/25

The MyCloud is connected to the wireless router. Some odd things about this:

  • internet access is unaffected when the MyCloud goes offline, yet both the MyCloud and the internet are going across the same wireless router.
  • A few minutes after going offline, the MyCloud will come back online without my having to do anything.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will turn the notifications on.

Here are example images, I shutdown and reboot my My Cloud every Thursday.

I would start at your router, and investigate IP address allocation. IME, devices coming and going from a network is often down to IP address conflicts.
