Subs show on some files

Hi,

I bought a WD My Cloud 2 TB 2 weeks ago and transfered some photos and videos n it. I have connected my TV thru a LAN cable to my home router (the same one on which the My cloud is connected)

When I watch any movies on the TV, the subtitles appear on some movies only. I checked the properties of 2 different files, one which shows the subs and one which does not, and both are identical.

And if I copy the same files on a pendrive and put it in the TV, subs show up on both movies.

Am I missing something here?

I’d appreciate some help on this.

Thanks

Thank you

Neither of those files have subtitles in them.

So I assume you must be using separate subtitle files?

Yes. I have .SRT files. Same name in the same folder

Have you tried any other DLNA clients with the same files (Phone, tablet, PC, etc) to see if they read both correctly?

Yes, they do. I can see the subs on my laptop and on my android tabet, on both these devices I use VLC player

And you’re using VLC as a DLNA client, not just accessing the files directly?  If so, I’m not sure what else to offer other than to state that if VLC can do it, then the Cloud is handling the files properly and your TV isn’t.

Dear TonyPh12345,

Thank you very much for the interest you took in trying to resolve my issue.
