Streaming to DLNA Sony BD Player

I just received my WD TV Live Hub today and have been running Serviio to stream .MKV content to my Sony BD Player and both Serviio and the Sony Player support .MKV video files. I bought the WD TV Live Hub becuase i was running out of hard drive space and  also had to leave my pc running to stream from the pc to the BD Player .

I have the WD TV Live Hub connect to one of my available ports on the back of my router. I can transfer .mkv files from my

Windows 7 PC to the WD TV Live Hub however they do not play. I know the Hub supports this file type and so does my player so why don’t they play.

What’s the model # of the Sony BD player?

It appears that it only plays MKVs if they are MP4/AVC format.

The files i have play from DVD-R and play via an inserted USB flash drive as well as the streaming software Serviio without transcoding them on the fly. Here are the video file details. I am running the most recent firmware version for

my player and support for my video files must have been added and the manual doesn’t reflect this addition.
