Strange problem with MOV format

Hello Friends,

I bought Elements Play with 1TB, at first, when I copied my videos (.mov) to the device the video played well but no sound at all. Then I update the firmware to version 1.01.10.

Now I have a new strange problem, the video still good but the sound is played till the half time of the total movie length (for example for a movie length 48 second the device play the sound till the second 24 then no sound till the end) and if I stop the movie and play it again from the time where I stopped it, the sound will played till the half of the remaining time (for example for the same movie of 48 sec if I stopped it at second 30 and again play it, the sound will played till sec 39 and no sound till the end of movie).

I tried all setting properties but no chance. My camera that record the movie is Fuji HS10 and below is the video file specification:

Video

 Frame width:  1920

 Frame height:  1080

 Data rate: 13403kbps

 Total bitrate:  14941kbps

 Frame rate:  29 frames/second

Audio

 Bit rate: 1537kbps

 Channels:  2(stereo)

 Audio sample rate: 48khz

Please I need a help ASAP to decide whether I should return the device or keep it.

Regards,

Haider

You never stated what the audio and video codecs are. Since they are out of sync I would recommend you convert them to a more popular file type.

Thanks Lawrence for your replay. From the camera specification, the video and audio codec is:

Movie: H.264 standared with stereo sound (MOV)

Audio: monaural WAV

Hello,

Can you post the Mediainfo for the video file? You will need to go to www.mediainfo.com download the application and follow the prompts. We will be able to see the entire file structure.

Thanks Nesvic,

SOWT audio isn’t supported.

I had the same problem with the sound being twice the speed of the video. I updated the firmware and now only get static sound.

Media info lists the sound Codec ID as twos

Is this the same as sowt ? if not any ideas?

Thanks

More or less.

SOWT is TWOS spelled backward.   TWOS refers to the fact that the binary data is TWOS COMPLIMENT (signed).

SOWT and TWOS are reverse byte-order from each other (referred to as “Endianness”) hence yours is “BIG” Endianness, and SOWT is “LITTLE” endianness.

Both are using SIGNED Linear PCM, and neither are supported.
