Strange Invisible Files

Hi I have a MyBookLive external hard drive connected to my local network running firmeware v02.32.05-046 which appears to be the lastest. I have done a factory re-install to wipe the old files off and now started to re-load. I have as expected some invisible ‘DS’ type files however I can see some other invisible files which is a worry!

So, I can see some of these files being created (as expected):

.DS_Store

But why am I also seeing some of these as well ?:

._.DS_Store

Also when I added an image file 20.jpg then via INFO asked for the file extension to be hidden I ended up with this invisible file:

._20.jpg

To put it another way why am I getting files with just a . and some with ._ before the .?

Very odd - help!!
