I just bought an EasyStore 5TB drive from Best Buy. I attempted to install WD Discovery and I kept getting “Installation Failed”. I tried every which way and got nothing. I found out that you MUST CLICK to share data with Western Digital, otherwise you can’t install. When the option comes up, you are not allowed to install unless you agree. Anyone know why this option was offered if you can’t do anything otherwise? Anyone know what information is being shared and how to stop private information from being shared?
I am having the same issue. I bought a 2 TB easystore drive from Best Buy yesterday. I am suspicious about the fact that the drive installation doesn’t work without sharing app data and would like to know why that is and if there’s a way to fix that.
