I have a system whereby I manually archive “My Documents” every year. I also have a backup system in place with my Smartware and My Book Live which works brilliantly. What I would like to do after archiving my files is to start a brand new Backup on my My Book Live device. Is there a way of cancelling and removing the old backup and starting again without having to reinstall the software?
Deleting/moving/renaming the old backup can at times force WD SmartWare to start over. However, the software may stall trying to continue the previous backup which should now be counted as “Additional files”, requiring for the application to be reinstalled.
