I just installed a new Passport essential drive, and unlocked it with my password.   However, when I open the drive, the only tabs that are available to look at and work with are “Home” and “Settings”.  There is a “Backup”  tab but it is dimmed out, and there is no automatic backup going on.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your reply.  I am still lost.  My open screen for the WD Smartware shows two vertical bars -one for my C drive on the PC and another one for the WD Passport drive, but I cannot click on the backup tab, and nothing is happening.  I must be doing something wrong.  Can you help?

Sorry I can’t offer more help I only used Smartware once and uninstalled it.
