Just some clarity, I have about 3 spare 1tb Seagate hard drives lying around. Can I use them as replacement for My Cloud devices and if they do, do I need to format them somehow??

I’m using the My Book World Edition II 2 Bay.
I have not tried to do this with this model, however i believe it has to be the same model as the on it already has, but the My Cloud EX and DL series do support different types of internal drives. Lets see if another user can share some information or tips on this matter.
Okay, but did you have to format them and if yes to what format because I
know that’s the biggest thing before you use another drive…
the actual units do prepare the drives to be used on the device, so there is no need to reformat them yourself on a separate computer.
