I’m having a problem of sound dropout when playing BluRay MKV files. Everything works find for about 5 or 10 minutes and the sound drops out. I hit stop, rewind a few frames and play and everything is fine for about 5 to 10 minutes and then the same thing happens again. I converted the files with DVD FAB BluRay Copy. Below is a Mediainfo on the file.
I have a first generation WD player with the latest firmware update. Files are stored on a WD 1trig Passport HD.

That’s an extremely high bitrate for an MKV file… That’s my guess…
I think you’re right, Tony – and he doesn’t even have a Live, so the buffer is probably even smaller with that first gen player.
I suspect the Live would handle that file.
What can I do to correct this problem?
Run it through Handbrake’s high profile preset.
But do change the output type to MKV (and pass through the AC3/DTS sound track you want).
