SOS : an unsual problem

After connecting my My Book Essentials to my pc i find that that the pc can not read the drive at all. However the My Book seems to be working just fine and it is picked up on the pc but the drive doesnt want to appear or open. please help

How is it displayed? As a local disk? Did you see it on device manager or disk management?
