My computer rebooted in the middle of me backing up my PC files and now its not working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive, but now there is not a single file on the drive and i cant do anything, Please help me out here
We need more info like what OS, backup software and is the drive visible in disk management? If it’s visible TestDsik http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk might fix it. It’s probably is corrupt.

once i download this, what am i supposed to do? All the files that were on the My Passport Essential SE drive are gone, its completely empty

Look down in Documentation there is a step by step to recover or repair partitions.
