I bought an external drive WD Elements Desktop - Question: Does WD SmartWare come with it - or do I have to buy the software after 4 weeks trial? - Eventually, what would be the price?
Elements is a simple plug and play drive with no software.

On the other hand, WD My Books and WD Passports come with a free version of WD SmartWare Standard that works with bundled products, but will not work with your WD Elements. WD SmartWare Standard can be upgraded to WD SmartWare Pro at any time and enables usage with non-WD SmarWare drives and non-WD USB drives.
