I have a disk with a lot of ■■■■. It would be nice to have a utility to check if the media files are compatible with the WDTV media players and report back which of them are not compatible, problem with video and/or audio codecs.
Is there something like that?
Since many downloads are poor encodes, and won’t play properly despite being supported codecs in supported containers, simply because they’re bad files, even if such a program did exist you’d probably find some files that it says will play, that won’t play.
The only sure-fire way, that works 100% of the time, is to make the video files yourself with a proper encoder. Then they all play back.
