Software doesnt see files that I backed up

Need your help, please.

Software doesnt see files that I backed up. But it still recognise that the memory space on the drive is filled with my data. And I can also see my folders on the Drive with Windows Explorer.

I suppose, it happens because of my Antivirus Application - last time when I attached the Drive to the computer, Antivirus discovered some malicious program on it and deleted some infected files from the Drive. Probably, it was some important files…((

Is it possible to reinstall WD software and get access to previously backed up files?

Have a Windows XP 2002 SP2

Possibly uninstall the Smartware reboot reinstall thne do a backup. Then look for a file called smartware.swstor  Look at this thread  http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-for-PC/data-restore/m-p/161586/highlight/true#M5703
