There are four drop down menu’s in the Home tab under WDMyCloud. They are: Public, SmartWare, TimeMachineBackup and Tim (my name). I backed up my Dell 1747 HD to Tim. Under the SmartWare item, there are some, not all, document files backed up.

  1. Why did files back up to SmartWare?

  2. Can I delete the files that were backed up to SmartWare? If yes, how do I do this?

Hello,

To delete these files inside the Smartware share You need to map the WD Smartware folder and then delete the backup folder inside of it. This backup folder is called “WDSmartware.swstor”

If I delete “WDSmartware.swstor” file, will the data in my “Tim” file still be there?
