Smartware needs to be turned on again after computer restart?

I am noticing that my Smartware is needing to be manually abled after I restart my computer.  Is that right?  As long as I remember to do so, that is good.  I keep it on continuous backup.  Also, I noted that after the computer restart and the manual ‘able’ again, it lost a couple of files that it had saved previously. Is that right?

Some more information would help. What kind of computer are you using.

I am currently on my desktop, Windows 7 SP1 and here is what shows for my SmartWare, it is set on automatic startup. See image below.
