I just got a My Book Essential 3TB and my laptop is Dell precision M6500 which has usb 3.0 ports. When I test the hard drive, I find the write speed only goes up 55 M/s. Anyone know the reasons? The laptop uses NEC chipset.
How fast is the HD in the laptop? If it'a slower 5400 rpm drive that will impact the write speed. Go into Device Manager find the external drive right click and properties then on Policies tab change to better performance reboot and see if it makes any difference.
Thanks Joe, I changed the policies tag to better performance, it gave me the same speed. The first image was I tested again on Mybook 3TB and the second one is my laptop;s HD. There are 2 x 500G 7200 RPM (Seagate 7200.4 ) HD in my laptop and I am using RAID 0.
Need ur help. And is there any one knows WD's contact phone number in UK?
Try this http://support.wdc.com/contact/index.asp?wdc_lang=en#europe
Sorry , tried those number before, none of them work. For every country in Europe, the phone number is same.
Can you tell me how to dial it?
