Sleep, LCD and apps on PR4100

Hi all,

Received my PR4100 yesterday and setup the Plex app, I have noticed that even though the energy saving options are on, the LCD never seems to turn off or the hard drive.

Is this due to the Plex app maybe or something else?

Also would love to see the NZBGET app appear in the apps list for his as it is supposed to be available according to the knowledge base. I would also love sonarr to be added at some point as well.

The best way to test if PLEX is affecting your unit’s sleep behavior is by disabling it.

With regards to NZBGET, the app should indeed be available for the WD My Cloud PR4100 according to the following article:

However, the product page for this unit does not list the app:

As such, I’d recommend contacting WD Support for clarification purposes.

On the other hand, you can request for new apps to be added in the Network Ideas section of the WD Community. If enough votes and User support comments are noted in your Idea then it will be passed along for revision.

Thanks for the information, it appears to be Plex, if I’m turn it off the unit goes into standby mode, however the LCD is yet to turn off. If I set a schedule up for power, when the unit reboots will the Plex app stay or would I have to do it manually each time.

Guessing leaving everything running 24/7 isn’t the best idea.

I kinda thought that was the point for spending the money on a NAS and NAS specific HD’s they were designed to run 24/7 ? Am I right ?
