Last month MyCloud Home Duo unit was forced an update through their web platform & something didn’t take, the NAS data itself is fine & everything via Windows backup & filesync is functioning fine. However their WD Discovery & interface could not work with the drive at all - to include OneDrive & Google Drive backups.
WD Sent an entirely new MyCloud Home duo of the same model complete with drives. I got excited & assumed we could simply swap the NAS drives - Nope not allowed at all. I contacted their support & they stated that the drives essentially were keyed to a unit - I assume any “replacement drive” itself is unkeyed? - Anwyays I returned the drives to their respective units & have both running through the router. Able to then activate the new drive as the replacement & everything’s ready for data I assumed.
Due to the original units “OS” being non-functioning I could not transfer the data via their MyCloud interface. I was able to do a standard network transfer at a whopping 2MBps max (I notice the drives are horrible with jumbo frames, can address this issue later) - fast forward 2 days & a reboot of everything, the data is on both units & things are matching up -so the backup to the new drive is complete? - nope. Things show up fine in Windows 10 explorer through the IP (\192.168.1.99\Public) but nothing shows up via their auto-mapped network drive, software, or web UI. https://downloadnox.com/ShowBox
