Simple Drive Option Missing when initializing for Windows

I purchased a 1 TB G-Drive mobile USB. I followed the instructions at Support | Western Digital to format the drive to NTFS to use on Windows. I am running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit April 2018 release (Version 1803, OS Build 17134.48).

I used Disk Management to determine that my new G-Drive was Disk 6. Iused diskpart to “clean” the drive then returned to Disk Management to Initialize Disk. As instructed, I selected GPT.

However, when I right-clicked on the initialized drive, New Simple Volume was not one of the available options. Instead I found the following:

I don’t know where to go from here. Which option should I select?

I solved my problem shortly after posting this message. I was right clicking on the right-hand side (where it says "Disk 6 Basic … " rather than in the left-hand side where it says, “… Unallocated”.

I was able to complete formatting my disk successfully.

Glad to hear you figured it out. Enjoy your drive!
