Shutdown / Reset EX2 Ultra without Dashboard (Catch-22)

My EX2 Ultra cannot be seen on my network so I can’t connect even to it. So I can’t access its Dashboard either.
An article says to do the 40-seconds Reset to get network back.
But 40-s reset procedure requires the EX2 to be shutdown first.
How best to effect a data-safe shutdown? (I gather pulling out the power cable isn’t a ‘real’ shutdown and probably isn’t data-safe ahead of a reset, correct?)
