Newbie here, I will be using My Book Live for both my Windows and Mac laptops (e.g. transfer files, backup). Do I need to install the software to both laptops? Or, the software is restricted to one admin only? THANKS!

You can install the software in different computers
you can also install the drive without the software
the drive will be accessible on the network once connected to the router
