One quick thought that may make this board a bit more new user friendly - is this board capable of settings up/leaving shortcuts behind when threads are moved between sections (if it has been posted in the wrong area)?
I ask as someone posted a question which I posted an answer reply for, but the thread was (correctly) moved to another section by one of the mods here (it was posted in the general external drive area, when it was more Mac specific). Hence it effectively disappeared from the forum where it was posted, so the original poster may think that it has been removed or lost somehow and not get the information that they were seeking.
As an experienced user I found the thread easily enough (by going into my profile page and looking at my recent posts to open directly the answer I’d posted) but new posters here may not know how to do that. So I was wondering if a better policy (if the board software allows) could be to leave a shortcut link behind when threads are moved (except in the cases of spam and other similar cases of course) just so there is a trail to follow. Other boards I frequent can do that, and such shortcuts are there but the drop down the thread list in the original section over time (as you’re effectively posting any new stuff via them into a different thread/area) and so don’t clutter the place up significantly.
Just a thought anyway…
